Teach & Kids Learn (TKL) is a Qualified Service Provider for General Education and Training approved in the State of North Carolina for grades K-12. We are pleased to provide our comprehensive online courses for educators within the State of North Carolina. Each course is directly aligned to the State Standards and Danielson Teaching Frameworks.

The North Carolina Professional Educator’s Continuing License must be renewed every five years. (The 3-year Professional Educator’s Initial License is non-renewable). The renewal process ensures that professional educators licensed as school personnel continually update their professional knowledge and technical competency. Each professional educator’s license holder is responsible for knowing and satisfying their license renewal requirements. Failure to renew your North Carolina Professional Educator’s Continuing License makes you ineligible for employment.

Renewal Criteria:

One semester/graduate hour is equivalent to 1.5 units of credit and/or 15 contact hours

For a professional educator’s license to remain current, all credit must be earned by the expiration date of the existing professional educator’s license.

To renew an expired Professional Educator’s Continuing License, 8 units of renewal credit must be earned.
Activities accepted for renewal credit:

College or university courses – Official transcripts are required as documentation; grade reports are not accepted.

Local in-service courses or workshops – The administrative unit certifies credits. Classes and workshops approved by an LEA Documentation of completion is provided by the agency sponsoring the activity.
