Key Strategies That Really Work for Differentiated Instruction

The focus for this GPLC Instructional Topic is intended to provide opportunities for teachers to explore key strategies that really support and positively promote differentiation of instruction in their own classrooms.

There are many strategies that can be employed when differentiating instruction, such as using learning contracts, learning menus, tiered instruction, and questioning techniques, to mention just a few. Therefore, the primary goal of this course will be for participants to learn how to design quality differentiated lessons using a variety of techniques and strategies, while keeping the elements of differentiation in mind. Specifically, one can differentiate instruction by product, process, and content, according to student readiness levels, learning profiles, and individual interests.
